The Davenport Community Schools Food and Nutrition program has received local, state and even national accolades and media attention for their progressive and innovative approach to the nutrition of the students they serve. Most recent recognitions have included the 2002 Iowa Dietetic Association GEM Award for contribution to the profession of dietetics in the field of nutrition. This and other accomplishments earned this team of nutrition experts a feature story on the national news magazine 60 minutes.
